Tuesday Breakfast Buffet Hotel Visit to ISSA - Superior Art Institute. See artists at work in their studios, meet with art professors and tour this magnificent art school. Lunch nearby. Late afternoon return to old Havana with continued visits to private artists studios and galleries. |
| Saturday Breakfast Buffet Hotel Depart at 10 AM for greater Habana bus tour, passing by major sites.. Univ. of Havana, the Malecon, Colon Cemetary, etc.. Then on to a docent -led tour of Bellas Artes Museum, Havana' s recently renovated and reopened museum of fine art. After lunch, join the festivities at the Bienal celebration. - featuring Cuba's best contemporary art. Dinner - on your own. Wednesday Breakfast Buffet Hotel Visit to old Havana with walking tour of the 4 main squares with a noted Architect of the City Historians office. Visit and tour of the Rum Museum with lunch in the colonial patio. Optional visits to the Museum of the Revolution and Decorative Arts Museum. Continued private visits to artists studios. |
| Sunday Breakfast Buffet Hotel Bus departure at 10 am for Pinar del Rio - to the picturesque Valley of Vinales. In route enjoy the lush and peaceful scenery and finest tobacco fields in the world. The Mogotes, boulder-like hills that cover the valley, are a unique sight. Visit to a tobacco farm and lunch at Palenque restaurant. Late return to Havana. |
Thursday Breakfast Buffet Hotel Enjoy this last day in Havana to shop, revisit museums and art galleries, leisurely stroll the plazas or take a salsa lesson. For those interested in exploring the exotic ceremonies and rituals of Santeria, the religion brought to Cuba by African slaves, we will arrange a special visit to the Casa de Humboldt - the present location of the Casa de Africa. | Monday Breakfast Buffet Hotel Prepare yourself for a stimulating day of Biennal art festival activities at the famous El Morro Castle- across the bay. The castle was built by the Spanish to protect Havana from attack from the sea. Meet artists and sculptors from around the world. Participate in Gallery openings. Lunch at nearby Paladar Dona Carmela. Return to the city and continue gallery visits in old Havana. - Near the Plaza de San Francisco, Plaza Vieja and Plaza de la Catedral. |
Friday (Last Day) Breakfast Buffet Hotel After a morning check-out, we depart the hotels/private homes in the early afternoon for a trip to Hemingway's home and enjoy a late lunch along the seaside at one of his favorite restaurants. Then head to the airport for our departures. |
